Hello all! Every year the theatre department at duke Ellington School for the Arts has a very special event called March for the Arts! It is my third year at Duke Ellington and I only have one year left having this experience at the school. Raising money means for me and my department, better shows, more props, seeing more live theatre, and last but certainly not least, the New York broadway trip! I understand how there may be confusion as to why we need so much money for a popular school, well unfortunately the school is not given money to the art departments, only the academics department. So in order for us to thrive through the year, we need money! So please please please donate and help us future actors. Thank you!

March for the Arts, is the

Duke Ellington School of the Arts annual Theatre

Fundraiser.

Support Us!

In the Theatre Department, students aren't just taught how to act. They are taught how to create the stories they want to see. They are given the tools to shape the world around them with their art. Ellington relies on the generosity of parents and donors to ensure that our students receive the highest level of pre-professional training and performance opportunities. Donations enable them to create sets, craft costumes, power technical capabilities, hire additional instructors, and fund classes with Master Acting Teachers like the renowned Professor Vera Katz.

Celebrate With Us!

Once upon a time there was an enchanted land full of magical spells, beautiful maidens, and true love where everyone lived happily ever after. Or did they??? Take a magical tour through the enchanted forests of Georgetown and learn what really happened to Rapunzel, Jasmine, Hansel and Gretel and other misrepresented characters during an interactive live show. After the performance, get more of the real scoop while you fly high on the moon bounces with Aladdin, play croquet with Alice, eat homemade treats with Tiana, and dance like the clock will never strike 12 with Cinderella! Enchanted showtimes are at 10:30 and 12. Dress as your favorite misrepresented fairytale character for a special gift from the Prince!
